Let's Get It Started

In order to get our new preschool off the ground, we need funds.  And there is an active fundraising committee already started, moving forward with ideas.  Here's a list of the current activities we have in the works:

• Do Not Come event (April), instead of a preschool gala/auction you get the opportunity to not come to this fundraiser
• Safeway loyalty card school reward program (starting in April), a percentage of the dollars you spend using your existing loyalty card comes back to the preschool
• Touch-a-Truck (June), check out construction trucks up close, face painting, auction items, bake sale, bouncy house and more
• Restaurant eat out event (May or June), where a percentage of your dinner cost goes to supporting the school
• Platt Park Picnic (June), support the event with fundraising activities for kids/families
• Parents night out event, possibly coupled with a babysitting option (summer)
• Mabel's Labels (Aug), fundraiser to purchase personalized labels for kids clothing

More details on all of these to come.  There are areas where we need help, specifically at the Touch a Truck event.  If you know anyone with a fantastic truck/vehicle, please let us know.  We would love to talk to the local fire station, our local milk delivery company, and food trucks to see if we can get them to show up.  We are looking for auction items as well.

Let's get the Platt Park Children's Center off to a great start!  Here's the place to come and get the latest on fundraising opportunities.  We have several ideas working already.  More on all of those later.
